The gas absorption is a unit operation of chemical engineering based on the mass transference of a component from a gas phase stream to a liquid one. This operation is very simple and the difficulties to design an absorption tower are associated with mass and energy balances which must be calculated under the conditions of the operating system. Using DELPHI language and some equations found in literature a didactic software was developed in order to project isothermal and countercurrent packed absorption towers. The results are presented in numeric form and a graphics, and it is also possible to print them. Some examples taken from literature were used to test the program efficiency whose results presented a 5% error variationDownloads
