Abstract

The article discusses the statute of the State of Nature concept in Hobbes. It analyzes the procedure followed by Hobbes in order to forge the concept, characterizes its component elements and analyzes the Hobbesian demonstration of its logical and juridical impossibility. It points out the logical aspect of Hobbes’ procedure and examines the relationship between the State of Nature and the civil society, in order to show the paradigmatic function of the former for the latter

Possui graduação em Psicologia pela Universidade Estadual de Maringá (1988), graduação em Formação de Psicólogos pela Universidade Estadual de Maringá (2003), mestrado em Filosofia e Metodologia das Ciências pela Universidade Federal de São Carlos (1996) e doutorado em Filosofia pela Universidade Estadual de Campinas (2002).
