Abstract

The analysis of the Giambista Vico’s literary work is pertinent in a moment when the paradigm crises in Human Science has been debating, actually it has been debating mainly in History. To Review the expressiveness of a literary work as the New Science contributes to make us think about this current discussion, once that this book was written in a period (beginning of the 17th century) of affirmation of the Modern Science as a way of validating knowledge. Even approaching the methodology and the Sciences’ classification, Vico has never reached a lot of notoriety with his ideas, which maybe has happened because of the fact that this philosopher is against the most important thinking of that epoch: the Cartesian Rationalism. It is exactly from this impact that Vico’s new science was born. To this philosopher, the feelings, rhetoric as well the history would be fundamental human products that would not ever be known by the Math method. In this way, here we have the comprehension of the way how these fundamental human products, by Vico, should be learned, and also, to present the epistemological distinctions proposed by him between nature science and men’s science.
