Scientific production on public policies in physical education: approaches on gender and race

Abstract

The aim of this study was to present the scientific production in public policies from 2001 up to 2010, and analyze the studies that consideration the sociological categories of gender and race, indicating the relationship they establish with the physical-sporting actives and leisure. The material under analysis consists of journals indexed in 2010 qualis of Physical Education and education, on Human and Social Sciences, located in intermediate levels. The research led us to conclude that the discussion on public policies, taking into consideration themes of gender and race, is still very small in leisure and physical-sporting activities’ studies.
