Motor evaluation of kindergarten children who practice
Abstract
This study aimed at verifying the motor profile of children who practice recreational activities during the physical education classes. The sample embraced nineteen 4-5-year-old children from the Centro Educacional Menino Jesus school of Folorianópolis city in 2002. The motor development scale (ROSA NETO, 2002) and a questionnaire applied to the parents to identify the activities the children practice outside school were used. Regarding the motor tests, the mean chronological age found was 57,21 months (± 6,48). Gross Motricity, Balance, Spatial and Time Organization fields were normal considering the age studied. However, in the areas of body scheme and thin motricity, a considerable delay was found in what concerns the chronological age. The average General Motor Quotient of these children was 95,64 (average normal profile). Regarding the questionnaire, few subject gave it back and concrete statements couldn’t be made. A study of the school/house context is suggested, so that a deepest observation of the activities performed inside and outside school can be performed.Downloads
