Abstract
The regular practice of physical exercise is considered as a form to prevent and combat the illness associated to the sedentarism. The aim of this study was to analyze the effects of a physical activity program in women’s body composition and anthropometric variables, employees of UNICAMP. Participated in the study 29 women of 47,12 ± 10,13 years, that were subdivided in control group (CG, n=15), and training group (TG, n=14). It was measured anthropometric and body composition variables. The data was analyzed through Student "t" test for dependent samples and ANOVA two-way for "group" and "moment", with p <0,05. A significant reduction was just observed in the antrpometric variables as weight (67,89±6,88; 66,24±7,61) and body mass index (28,67 ± 3,06; 27,96±3,29) and waist and hip rate (0,84 ± 0,04; 0,84 ± 0,04) of TG. We concluded that the proposed training program was effective in the reduction of body mass index and waist and hip rate, but it was not efficient for the reduction of body fat percentage.Downloads
