Ergonomic analysis in a household environment

Abstract

The aim of this reaserch was to analyse the relation between Maringá-PR housewives` work environment, with reference to the ergonomy of the position of the sink, of iron table and the height of the sink, with the prevalence of pain complain as musculokeletal sympton. The collection of data was taken through a questionare applied to a hundred housewives during the months of july and august in 2004 and the verification of erghonomycs of the equipments work place. The results didn´t show a correlation between the normality patterns proposed in the protocol by Iida (2002) and the presence of pain. Based on the results it is conlcuded that the ergonimic aspects reaserched aren´t directly related with the pain of the housewives. However the association of this envoriments aspects with the , as lack the muscle activity and the orientations about the ergonomics rules and posturals for the other activities that envolve the household chores, may be present as potencial to health conditions to this professional category.
