Orientation athletes’ physicist profile
Abstract
Orientation has been a sport recognized by the International Olympic Committee since 1977 and it is a way of running through a certain circuit in a natural environment so that the subject crosses some points in the shortest time possible, counting on the help of both a sea-compass and a map of the plot. The aim of this study was to trace a physicist profile of these sport athletes. The sample embraced 16 male athletes from the Orientation elite team of Santa Maria city’s barracks – state of Rio Grande do Sul. A physical test battery and an evaluation of the corporal composition were performed. For the results analysis it was used a descriptive statistics with mean, standard and error deviations, as well as maximum and minimum values. Considering the elite athletes, the results indicate that the cardiorespiratory condition and the lactic anaerobic endurance are the most evident physical capacities.Downloads
