Abstract
The aim of this study was to 1) observe the dynamics of motor performance (MP) and morphological variables (MV) in seventy six (76) 11-16 year-old Brazilian male basketball players, 2) identify the differences between categories (CA), and 3) analyze the relationship between MP and MV. The ANOVA and multiple regression were utilized. The level of significance was 5%. The results shows that the MP and MV may be divided into distinct periods: a) 11-12 to 14 year of age (y), [the differences between CA were most pronounced to MP and MV]; b) 14 to 15 y related to MV; 3) 15 to16 y related to MP. The bigger subjects were faster and stronger. The body composition variables were significant predictors of MP. It has been showed that the variables of the study could be important markers to monitoring the basketball sports development.Downloads
