The post-graduation stricto sensu in physical education in Rio de Janeiro: challenges for academic formation and scientific production from the possibilities of publication

Abstract

The objective of this article is to describe and analyze the academic formation and the challenges for the scientific production from the possibilities of publication in the postgraduate in Physical Education in Rio de Janeiro. A documentary was used using the edicts of the postgraduate programs and official publications of CAPES. It was evidenced a high number of teachers of biodynamics and a low quantitative of socio-cultural and pedagogical, although added. After analyzing 2083 periodicals of the area, the disproportionality between the subareas is revealed, being almost 70% specific to biodynamics. The manuscript indicates the low number of programs in physical education, imbalance between subareas and the scarcity of journals as reasons that hinder academic formation and scientific production for the socio-cultural and pedagogical subareas.
