Abstract
This study focuses the synergy between physical education, folklore, and religion in everyday school life. The aim is to understand and analyze the universe of meanings shared by teachers, students, parents and guardians of students about the relations and interference of religious beliefs in the practices of folklore in a public school of Rio de Janeiro. This is a descriptive study with qualitative approach, whose theoretical and methodological reference is based on ethnomethodology. The article concludes that there are nuances of discrimination in the way teachers and students deal with the issues related to African-Brazilian legacy. It can be argued that public policies are insufficient to raise awareness of this problem in school.Downloads
