Abstract

Objective: To observe relations between risk factors and diseases in women with age ≥50 years-old. Methods: It were analyzed 106 women with age ranging from 50 to 84 years-old. Questionnaire assessed the disease presence. The walk test indicated the physical fitness. Body mass index and waist circumference were adopted as indicators of total and central adiposity, respectively. Results: There was relationship between walk test and both SBP (r= -0.31) and DBP (r= -0.21). High performance in walk test decreased the likelihood to present diseases of conjunctive issue (OR= 0.29). Higher number of risk factors was associated with higher likelihood to present disease. Conclusion: Clustering of risk factors (low physical fitness and elevated adiposity) can be a useful tool for identification of subjects at high health's risk.
