SPECIALIZED EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE TO THE INTELLECTUALLY DISABLED PERSON: CONTRIBUTIONS OF THE HISTORIC-CULTURAL PSYCHOLOGY

Abstract
This work of bibliographic nature has the objective of analyzing the contributions of Historic-Cultural Psychology to the Specialized Educational Assistance – SEA to the person with intellectual disability, considering the necessity of a guiding theory for an effective and inclusive practice. It is understood that this theoretical perspective based on the historic and dialectic materialism enables the development of the omnilateral man, including the ones whose development have been made difficult by disability. SEA should take place in the classrooms with multifunctional resources and its role is to complement or supplement the formation of the student by means of services, resources and strategies that enable the learning and the effective participation of the subject into society. The systemized study of the theory, particularly in the work Defectology by L.S. Vigotski enabled thinking of the organization of a special teaching that besides promoting learning, it contributes to the development of the superior psychological functions specially the thinking, capable of reorganizing one’s intellectually disabled psyche and promote the capture of conscience. This can be concluded highlighting the importance of school promoting learning before development and considering that it enables the compensation of the disability by means of appropriating culture, intellectual and material instruments that aim the transposition of the biological species to the formation of the human genderDownloads
