LITERACY AND SCHOOLING IN INTELLECTUALLY-DEFICIENT PEOPLE

Abstract

The study of the teaching process in reading and writing in intellectually-deficient people is provided. The educational history of the above-mentioned people throughout the history of the teaching of writing to people with intellectual deficiency is also  given and ideas on deficiency reveal its understanding by society and peoples. Concern on the appropriation of reading and writing also reveal the social values of each period. Once there was a great concern in teaching methods whereas today there is a preoccupation so that people use reading and writing learned in school for social practices
