Abstract

The following paper is composed of a translation of a text by wilhelm von Humboldt, [sobre reformas no sistema de ensino (on reforms on educational system)] (title given only posthumously), of 1810, preceded by an introduction essay that tries to contextualize its historical significance and bring home the institutional and conceptual dimensions that it articulates.  The importance of Humboldt in the constitution of the modern University model – especially since his role in the foundation of the university of Berlin, in the same year the text here translated was written – is incompatible to the barely absent bibliography in Portuguese (translations as much as comments). The following work intends to initiate the rectification of this conjecture.
