The production of a school discipline : teachers/authors and their textbooks
Abstract
The text discusses the didactic production of history teachers
at the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries in view of
their contribution in relation to historical knowledge and their
school education. The study analyzes the didactic works of
Charles Seignobos, João Ribeiro and Jonathas Serrano. Not
only as intellectuals, but also in their social practices related to
the processes of schooling, these authors participated actively
in the process of building the history school subject, both in its
aspect of curriculum setting and in the reflection and educational
practice of this knowledge.
