Reorganization of the Educational System in democratic times: 1951 curricular reform and the teaching of History
Abstract
This is an analysis of the Curricular Reform of 1951, focusing on the history course for junior high school, with the purpose of understanding how the construction of the teaching proposal of the discipline was interwoven with the dynamics of Brazilian democracy and the expansion of secondary school in that period. The interinstitutional relations involving the Congregation of the Pedro II College and the Ministry of Education and Health are emphasized in this process of construction and, examining the theoretical and methodological presuppositions that make up the disciplinary knowledge, in a sociocultural approach (Popkewitz, 1997), perceiving interests of different social and intellectual sectors in the construction of the debate on the aims of this teaching.Downloads
