From the ferule to the internet a revisitation of the teaching profession

Abstract

This text intends to look from the angle of educational practices the performance of the teaching that defines historically as a profession. The author approaches the activities of the teachers since the rudimentary didactics on the sphere of elementary knowledges until the search for information in it’s transmission through the resources to sources not registered extra scholastic. At the same step, shows that the privileged form of punishment of transgression of normatives scholastics – the named “physical correction” – does not configure a practice confined to the past. It shows equally that in the present it is still not only accepted as practice in institutions said educatives. In the portuguese example it was about the doctrinal definitions presented in the board of the Supreme Court portuguese that were received with severe critics from the circle of portuguese pedagogues that inspire themselves in an humanist education.
