Abstract

This article aims to bring over the value to a new perspective for the study of the history of education: school culture in three areas (law, theory, empiricism). An approach to the Spanish School of the 20th century by studying a primary practice for teaching: le cahier de roulement. The essay presented is the result of a content analysis carried out in notebooks which have been used in three historical moments: Second Republic, Francoism and, actually, the projection to America. The knowledge extracted is a cultural heritage that can and must enrich our learning and the formation of the new generations of teachers.
