Phosphite determination in fertilizing products is very important for the quality control of these products. Classical methods of analysis include gravimetric or spectrophotometric methodologies, which create toxic chemical residues. This paper describes an alternative hydroxyapatite-based electrode for phosphite determination. A linear electrochemical response was obtained from a phosphite concentration of 1 x 10-5 to 1 x 10-1 mol L-1. The results obtained the by proposed method are in accordance with those obtained by the gravimetric method at a 95% confidence level for direct determination in liquid fertilizing products.Downloads
