Abstract

In this paper the users’ needs and official information on the public transport system of Maringá were compared. In this confront, it was observed that the public transport system of Maringá lacks planning based on scientific work, with research preparation of the population’s mobility within the urban area, mainly of what concerns origin - destination and flow frequency. Thinking of the need to approach urban managing office and users, we are developing a project to provide the interaction between them. The project consists of organizing a Geographical Information System for the public transport of Maringá with a double function: users' communication improvement and data gathering to map the information on origin - destination of journeys

Elza Yasuko Passini, UEM

possui graduação em Geografia pela Universidade de São Paulo (1968) , mestrado em Educação pela Universidade de São Paulo (1990) , doutorado em Educação pela Universidade de São Paulo (1996) e pos-doutorado pela Universite Du Quebec A Montreal (2004) . Atualmente é Servidor público ou celetista da Universidade Estadual de Maringá. Tem experiência na área de Geografia , com ênfase em Geografia Regional. Atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: Mapa, Livro didático, Alunoprofessor Currículo Lattes
