Abstract
This study aims to analyze the inter-relationship between the social imaginary and Physical Education, as a way of scientific investigation. This analysis became relevant at the point that it allows a new approach on the corporal movement culture. Through a theoretical review it is possible to verified that imaginary can be understood as symbols shared by a specific group or society that influence social relationships, while the corporal movement culture would be the language through the body involving symbols and meanings that are built and destroyed according to certain cultural-historical-social context. Therefore it can be considered that the relation between both concepts can contribute significantly to enlarge the limited and restricted approach that the Physical Education professionals seem to have about corporal movement culture, improving their pedagogical practice.Downloads
