Motivational Factors for Practice of Jazz in Teenagers
Abstract
This study aimed at verifying which motivational factors impel teenagers to practice jazz in public and private schools and social clubs. This is a descriptive research constituted by a study group comprised by 68 girls, 11to 14 years old, who practices jazz at municipal, state and private schools and social clubs in the city of Santa Maria, State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil. The measurement instrument used was the Motivation for Sport Practice Inventory of Gaya and Cardoso (1998). The results indicate the factors associated to the health and sport competence are more important to motivate the practice of the jazz.Downloads
