Unconventional toys

Abstract

The aim of this study was to demonstrate that uncoventional toys may be very helpful to children in their development process, provinding them with organized motor activities in such a sequence that their natural tendencies for movement and disposition for learming may be directed to basic skills acquisition through a variety of toys which offer them a chance to run, jump, crawl, climb, balance, hang, turn on their heels, swing, pull and push, and to exert other kings of moment. A bibliographical study with special regard to human moment was carried out to verify the role of toys in children’s development. This ceases to be an activity for the reliese of energy and becomes a necessity for children’s development. Twenty projects of unconventional toys, alternative forms to standard toys found in all playgrounds, werw also analysed to anhance the possibility of utilizing existing space, reorganizind in and establishing new projects.

Possui graduação em Educação Física pelo Instituto Municipal de Ensino Superior de Presidente Prudente (1974) , especialização em Bases Científicas e Metodológicas da Educação Físi pela Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (1990) e mestrado em Filosofia da Educação pela Universidade Metodista de Piracicaba (1993) . Atualmente é Outro (especifique) Professor Assistente da Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho. Tem experiência na área de Educação Física.
