Abstract
Motor development success depends on the interaction between many factors that still need to be further explained. Among these, physical fitness, motor fitness (coordination), somatic fitness, and physical activity, have been identified as fundamental for establishing an optimal level of motor development. Our goal in this study was to understand how these factors correlate with each other in the end of elementary school. One hundred and forty children were assessed on their physical fitness (6 tests), somatic fitness (BMI), coordination (KTK), and physical activity (Baecke questionnaire). Results showed a positive general correlation between fitness components, however with a differentiated gender profile. Physical activity was not correlated with any of the fitness components.Downloads
