Abstract

The present study aims to discuss Teacher Education Policies of Basic Education in Brazil since  theapproval of National Education Guidelines and Regulation Laws  – Lei de Diretrizes e Bases  -(LDB9394/96) and its relation to the great offer of teacher education courses  by means of distance learning (EaD) as an alternative to the need of qualified professionals. Distance Learning (EaD), besides criticisms, must be understood as a phenomenon of the current society, an answer from the society to the present demand to qualify education professionals.
