Abstract

This article aims to present an experience of construction of a documentary source from the pedagogical assets of teaching of physics and chemistry from the Colégio Culto à Ciência de Campinas/ High School Colegio Culto a Ciencia at Campinas São Paulo State. This asset was constituted in the turn of centuries XIX/XX in a period where the high school education started to value the knowledge of natural sciences. Therefore, the analysis of this documentary source supplies many indications how this process occurred. In this text some possibilities of analysis and the limitations of this type of document was studied. This work is inserted in the line of cultural history and, particularly in the field of the education, in the History of the Disciplines and the material culture of the school.
