Intellectual, education and public space in Brasil Imperial regime: an analysis of Tavares Bastos' political and educational thoughts

Abstract

In this work, we concentrate on the thought of Aureliano
Candido Tavares Bastos (1839-1875) relating to public
instruction from, in particular, their performance at A Província
and its consequences in shaping a public space in Brazil consists
of elements more democratic. For this, we rely on categories:
intellectual, elementary structures of sociability, microclimate
and network to analyze the processes of production and
circulation of ideas about this intellectual change, social reform
and the constitution of the space public in Brazil. We treat your
