Abstract

This article aims to discuss the nefarious role of the didactic books, excepting few ones, regarding the teaching of literature. They usually contain lots of exercises and fragmented texts, demotivating the taste for reading development, since the literary texts in these books do not correspond to the immediate interests and students’ aspirations. To reestablish the lost contact between the student and the literary texts, this work aims to present some pedagogical strategies, such as the ones by Maria Tereza Fraga Rocco, Lígia Chiappini M. Leite, Maria da Glória Bordini and Vera Teixeira de Aguiar, aiming to offer different ways that may allow teachers to motivate the reading habit and, from there, to privilege humanization in its deep sense
