Abstract

This article is based on the analysis and translation of the article by Tara Goldstein, ‘I’m not white’: anti-racist teacher education for white early childhood educators’, a study that argues and proposes methods for education aimed at social inclusion starting from classes in early childhood. From Goldstein's reflections, a study was done on the problems of social and cultural inclusion in the Brazilian Amazon and of the main actors involved in this process: educators and children. In this article, I point out the real necessity of an education for teachers who work with child or basic education in the Brazilian Amazon in search of knowledge about themselves and their own prejudices so that, in their own pedagogical practices, they can act with empathy and seek for inclusive pedagogy starting from classes in childhood.

Mestrado em LingÃ¼ística pela Universidade Federal de Rondônia (2004), especialização em Língua Portuguesa pela Universidade Federal de Rondônia (1999), graduação em Letras Inglês e suas Literaturas pela Universidade Federal de Rondônia (1996), graduação em Letras Português e Inglês pela Universidade Federal do Pará (1983) e graduação em Pedagogia - Administração Escolar pela Universidade Federal do Pará (1977). Atualmente é professora titular de Língua Inglesa e Comunicação Empresarial da Faculdade Interamericana de Porto Velho - UNIRON.Tem experiência na área de LingÃ¼ística, com ênfase em Semântica e Pragmática, atuando principalmente nos seguintes temas: tradução - sentido - língua e cultura; multiculturalismo; mídia - televisão; preservação - cultura e desenvolvimento sustentável - discurso colonizador- educação - educação inclusiva - educação multicultural - formação do professor.
