Abstract

The purpose of this article is to make a historiographic reflection on the experimental secondary classes. This analysis is made in three historical moments: first, from the 1950s, when these renovatory essays in Brazilian secondary education emerged and were officialized by the MEC until the 1964 coup; Second, during the military regime; And, finally, in the period of redemocratization of Brazilian society, which began in the 1980s and which is still unfolding today. To do so, he uses the concepts of collective memory, formulated by Jacques Le Goff, and representation, enunciated by Roger Chartier, and uses texts of history of education as scientific articles, books, master's dissertations and doctoral theses.
