Abstract

This paper presents a work whose objective is to evidence that the identification and the hierarchy of the themes in a text requires the combination of different discursive phenomena: the one of the articulation of textual constituents and the thematic progressions. For that, we made, in three stages, the study of a specific text. At first, it was verified the form as textual constituents articulate themselves. After that, we analyzed thematic progressions of the text. Finally, the analyses accomplished in the first two stages were combined. In this third stage, we identified the themes hierarchy and we verified that the degree of the text information accessibility seems to be linked to the hierarchy of its constituents. That verification allowed us to explain why certain information worked preferentially as themes
