<b>Academic rankings in higher education: mapping of its expansion in the ibero-american space
Abstract
Academic ranking for mapping its expansion in Ibero-American space is discussed, focusing mainly on rankings enhanced by the private sector, particularly the publishing market. An exploratory research was conducted by documentary and bibliographic analyses on data disseminated on the Internet. The research reveals the lead taken by Spain in terms of international rankings production, with visible regional impact, coupled to three Latin American countries (Chile, Brazil and Mexico) with well-defined and established academic ranking foregrounded on their national realities.
